Note: Much of the information on this page pertains to the submission and voting phase of the Capture Cincinnati project. That phase has come to an end. However, please feel free to read up and see how the project came together.
Groups are a fun way to tie people together. The goal is to get several people from an organization, school, or even just a group of friends, to participate in the project as a team.
Because being alone is never as fun as being with a group! It's easy to get a group of people together with the same interests. Whether that be a group of photo students at a local high school, a group of nature photographers on Flickr, or a realtor association serving our area, it's always good to get together with people you know.
Everyone that's a part of a group gets to see their profile page with other group members. And, all group member's photos, votes, and other activity is added together and shown to the world. Think of it like bragging rights for you and the people you live with, work with, play with, share with. Each group gets to link back to their own website if they have one. It's exposure, in other words. If you're a part of a photo class, or business, or charity, etc., it's always good to generate interest in your organization.
If you're a part of a group of photographers, a school, a sports team, an organization, or any other group that has at least four photographers who'd like to upload photos and be associated with each other in a group, fill out the form below and we'll get your group set up. Once it's set up, everyone in the group will be shown on the group's profile page, and the group will be featured on the people page.
A Capture Cincinnati group is not a way to tie people with similar interests together. So a group like "Flower-Lovers" won't work. It's not a way to tie people together that have no real-world bond. Think of a group like a way to publicize something you are already a part of (company, school, online forum, charity organization, church, and so on).
To add to the fun, we're going to give a shout out to the most active group (in terms of number of members and number of photos) in the book. We'll put a nice big blurb in the book about your school, business, Flickr group, or whatever your group is about, including your web address. So get your group set up, then get everyone to upload as many photos as possible!
Please note that because of the competitive nature of groups, each Capture Cincinnati member is allowed to a part of only one group at a time. No two-timing allowed!
