Sorry Tim... my grandmother has been in the hospital lately but I finally got it out of her and found out that the painter was Jean-Honore Fragonard, painted in 1776. And yes, this is one of his originals handed down from generation to generation... = PRICELESS!!!
I bought a replica of this painting at an art museum in Washington, DC, years ago - matted and framed it for my daughter-in-law, who is a teacher. She loves it.
