Gold finch eating nature's candy by Virginia Wilson

As the summer has progressed, the gold finches have become more tolerant of my presence. This one granted me the honor of getting nice and close (with a lot of patience on my part). I will definitely plant sunflowers again next year. The birds love them and so do I!

I've always loved this bird. As a boy I would see them when I walked railroad tracks and didnt know if anyone else ever saw them.. Nice shot and thanks for capturing a memory for me!
