And my hill. The top half of this view is between the Memorial Parkway and Grand Avenue exits off I-471. On the left, there used to be a hill. On the right, there used to be the rest of that hill. In the center, when there were hills, there used to be a valley. All destined to become yet another shopping area. I feel a twinge of sadness every time I drive by here, yet another Northern Kentucky hill stripped or plowed down in the name of "progress."

Great capture, sorry to say.

I'm just glad I don't own that house on the edge were they've cut into that hill. Yep, it's pretty ugly and will continue to look so for a long time.
Pom Mom says:
I agree. When you view it from this angle, it doesn't look quite as bad; but when you view it from I-471, the hill looks as though it's sliced straight down beside that house, and you wonder whether those houses are going to slide right off the top.

Very cool view and discription..

The title is one of my favorite movies. To bad we're not in Wales.
Palemommy says:
Yeah, "was" being the keyword...seems like it's gotten particularly bad in Campbell Co. these days. Nice shot, though...
Chrisriley says:
Yeah it's the last area near the river that has "cheap" land so the developers are buying it up and mowing it down and shouting at the top of their lungs "Lets Strip Mall America". How sad. I think the AA Hwy is running through that somehow too, all to cut down on traffic on 471, instead of putting in a rail system. Goofy.
Sharp says:
Thanks for sharing your shot. I pass the point where I took my shot every time I go downtown, and am dumbfounded by how ugly greed is.

So sad...I wish we could preserve more land. Don't we have enough buildings and developed spots to work with?
