"White Castles" a Cincinnati institution, oh those little onion and pickle burgers,, and the coffee, I love them! The reason I am putting in in "News and Events" is the "drive-thru's'" With gas shortage, and the carbon dioxide emissions, pollution, wouldn't it be a great step forward if all fast-food chains voluntarily put an end to the drive-thru service. Times change, you remember Frish's "drive-up's" and your order was brought to you on skates! Think of the amount of gas used, sitting and idling,,, and gasses expelled (pardon the pun!) that are added to the total amount released in the atmosphere every year. What's wrong with stopping the engine and just walking in for a pick-up. I think the average wait is at least 5-8 minutes, with so many cars all waiting in line all the time, with little amount of people inside, so, so many fast-food restaurants. Take time with your life and sit down, relax, and eat inside. At least delivery does save gas...

This picture shot by a man who has offered me a VEGGIE BURGER recipe?? That almost makes me want to throw this giant turkey leg at you, but it's too tasty. Team Carnivore!
Woodstock says:
it's made from vegetarians ;p

Well, half the time when I'm in a line at a drive-through, I stop my engine, anyway. I read somewhere a long time ago that it's worth the re-start if you idle more than a few seconds. On a related thought--let's abandon stopping at red lights! LOL!! Seriously, 4-way stops are much more time- and fuel-efficient in a lot of places, even if hard on the old brakes.

I love the the street circles, that you just merge into, we found these even in the small towns down in KY... they move pretty smooth... what drive-thru you going to? it must be a veggie burger!!! ;)
Pom Mom says:
I like the traffic circles, too. They've been working pretty well in Europe a long time. I think people here have to get used to them, though . . . . nah, not a vegetarian--I try to avoid the carbs and the fat but confess to a weakness for Burger King fries. Gizmo likes them, too.
